Established in 1983, the Lexington Barbecue Festival has achieved regional, statewide and national recognition. USA Today acknowledged the Lexington Barbecue Festival as one of the Top Ten Great Places to Celebrate Food. Travel & Leisure Magazine named the Lexington Barbecue Festival in the Top Ten Food Festivals in America and the Southeast Tourism Society named the festival amongst the Top 20 October Events. These achievements will have foodies and barbecue lovers from all over catching the train into Lexington on Saturday, October 26th to partake of the live music, family-friendly attractions and the legendary barbecue.
More than 200,000 people are expected to attend this free festival, which spans a 10-block stretch of Uptown Lexington with nearly 300 unique vendors and plenty of barbecue. It all begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m.
Getting to and from the Barbecue Festival is easy with several transportation options and ample parking throughout Uptown Lexington, which are managed by area civic groups. Shuttle service from satellite parking lots at Childress Vineyards and Walmart on Lowes Blvd. are available from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The shuttle service cost ranges from $2 to $3 per rider.
NC By Train gets you to the 40th Lexington Barbecue Festival on Oct. 26, dropping you off at the welcome center, thanks to a one-day special train stop.

NC By Train will make 10 stops, unloading and boarding passengers at the Lexington Hospitality Center located at 29 North Railroad Street in Lexington, one block from the festival.
