Jessica S. Miller has devoted over three decades to supporting soldiers and their families, becoming an indispensable pillar within the Logistics and Field Artillery communities. Since marrying a Logistician and Artilleryman in 1990, Mrs. Miller has made an immeasurable impact on the lives of countless soldiers and military families across multiple installations.
Dana Buie of Churchland Elementary School was awarded the 2025 Nancy Sink Frazier Distinguished Teacher in Special Education Award.

The Lexington Police Department (LPD) received a 911 call at 6:07 p.m. reporting a 19 year old female had been shot while sitting at a picnic table. Reports were that no one saw a suspect at the scene.

On Saturday, June 7th, Thomasville will come alive with Rock the Block, a community event filled with music, food and entertainment. Taking place from 9 AM to 3 PM at The Fountain, the event will offer a lively atmosphere for residents and visitors to enjoy. With live performances, local vendors, and activities for all ages, Rock the Block promises to be a day of excitement and community spirit. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration and experience all that the event has to offer.
Crews arrived to find visible fire and smoke coming from the apartment and immediately initiated a fast fire attack to bring the fire under control.
Lexington police officers responded to multiple 911
calls for service this morning at 5:30 a.m. regarding two vehicles driving in a
neighborhood off South Main Street including Snider Avenue, Peacock Avenue, Austin
Street, and Stamey Avenue. The 911 callers reported that two cars were driving around
the neighborhood “Ramming” each other and that they also heard gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located one gunshot victim near a vehicle that had crashed into a house located at 103 Peacock Avenue.
