An event celebrating local workers on September 5th is being postponed to Spring 2023!
Davidson County is getting its first intercity bus service that will connect the county to several other cities across the state on a daily basis. Sunway Charters, based in Winston-Salem, has started a mid-state express service from Winston-Salem to Fayetteville with stops in Lexington, High Point, Asheboro, Siler City and Sanford.
Davidson County Public Library, along with public libraries across the United States, will celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month throughout September.
Toni Royal McCullough has served as a Property Manager for Guilford County and Lexington, NC Housing Authority for 16 years. She is a graduate of Lexington Senior High School and completed Paralegal studies at Davison-Davie Community College. She studied and attended Vintage Bible College in Winston Salem, NC. She is currently enrolled at the Spiritual Training Center in Thomasville, NC where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Theology.

Davidson County Senior Services, in partnership with the Lexington Kiwanis Club, is hosting the Annual Seniors’ Day at the County Agricultural Fair. The date will be September 22 at the Davidson County Fairgrounds, 400 Greensboro St. Ext. The gates will open at 9:00 a.m., and admission is free for all seniors 55 and older.

The Lexington Fire Department responded to a structure fire yesterday at 5:35 pm. The single-family home on West Fifth Street showed heavy smoke from the front of the structure. Responding crews were advised that all occupants were out, but a cat was still inside.
