Send your comments to The State Board of Elections. At its September 13, 2022 meeting, will adopt one-stop early voting plans for county boards of elections that did not adopt unanimous plans and petitioned the State Board to adopt a plan for them.
Since its first year (1973), I have remembered August 26, Women’s Equality Day. This special day is meant to celebrate women and their contributions to our country, to look back, present, and forward, and especially to commemorate Voting Rights won by women after years of struggling just to be able to vote.

Pamela Kelly writes “Souls to the Polls! Anyone growing up in North Carolina knows that term. I was not raised here and although I understood on the surface what Souls to the Polls was, I didn’t really understand how important it was to the Black Community. My understanding is the congregations of Black Churches would gather in a group after services and go together in church vans to vote on Sunday. To an outsider this seemed convenient and a powerful community exercise to get out the vote. My outsider’s view might be accurate in part but is far from the whole story.”

Our nation, state, and county really do hang in the balance this fall. When the Chair of Davidson County GOP says, “Our actions, or inactions, will determine the course our society takes for the foreseeable future.” I agree wholeheartedly! But from that point on we diverge.
The Davidson County Republican Women's Club is hosting their second annual Conservative Conversations and Cookout. This year's event will feature congressman Ted Budd, congressman Dan Bishop, Judge April Wood, county commissioners as well as other State, Federal and local candidates. This beautiful meet and greet will allow for discussions and conversations with our elected officials.
