This year's event will feature congressman Ted Budd, congressman Dan Bishop, Judge April Wood, county commissioners as well as other State, Federal and local candidates. Thomasville council votes to dissolve multicultural committee
A multicultural committee formed in 2012 was recently dissolved by the city of Thomasville. The unanimous vote by the council cited “over the past several years, the multicultural committee has deviated from the primary mission of promoting and embracing all of the community's cultures and has expressed interest in focusing on a more narrowly tailored group of cultures,” and in a resolution to dissolve the group.

A complaint submitted to the North Carolina Board of Elections resulted in a hearing by the local Board of Elections on Tuesday, June 14 for LEXINGTON CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION WARD 5.
