Saturday, November 26, is Small Business Saturday – a day set aside each year to celebrate and support small businesses all across the United States for all they do in our local communities. In Lexington and Davidson County, that means all the local businesses we know and love and would be hard-pressed to imagine our main streets and greater communities without.
The open house will provide information on an apprenticeship through DDAC and its eight member companies.
The Davidson-Davie Apprenticeship Consortium (DDAC) has added two companies, Owens & Minor and Cascade Die Casting, increasing its membership to eight companies.

In early August, Sharon Styffe took the helm as the Davidson-Davie Community College director of the Small Business Center to help provide support and guidance to local owners. Styffe describes her role as helping local businesses connect passion with a wealth of resources.
Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Meet and Greet Recruiting Event with their Detention Center Team Members.
“Getting the opportunity to intern at Davidson Local, I can be challenged and hopefully improve my writing skills and try things I would not usually do in a normal high school setting. It is always intriguing to see situations from different perspectives: a child of immigrant parents, an Asian-American female, a student in the twenty-first century and even a small business, after helping manage my parents’ restaurant.”
City of Thomasville City Manager Michael Brandt is pleased to announce the position became available after Fire Chief Eddie Bowling was promoted to Assistant City Manager. Thomasville received many great candidates for the position from across the country but after extensive assessments Chief Myers was selected to fill the Fire Chief role.
Organizers nationally and locally are calling for a partnership with our planet this Earth Day. Earth Day 2022 will be observed on April 22nd with a cleanup in Uptown Lexington from 4pm to 6pm on The Square.
The Davidson County Economic Development Commission made an announcement today at the Davidson County campus of Davidson-Davie Community College. Nucor, a steel mill, is coming to Lexington/Davidson County.
