On Monday August 23, the Davidson County Schools (DCS) Board of Education held a special called meeting to provide COVID-19 updates, address protocols, and to revisit their previous decision of optional masks.
In a reversal of their decision from earlier this month, the Davidson County Schools Board of Education voted unanimously Monday evening to make masks mandatory in all schools.
On August 14, music lovers unfolded their chairs and laid their blankets on the lawn in front of the Breeden Insurance Amphitheater, for the highly anticipated “Sounds of Summer” music event hosted by the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Sounds of Summer music event, hosted by the Lexington area Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for August 14 at the Breeden Insurance Amphitheater in Lexington. Gates open to the public at 3 p.m. at the main event entrance on East Third Ave. The event will feature live music from four phenomenal bands, adult beverages and a variety of food truck vendors. Rain or shine, this highly-anticipated event is sure to be one of Lexington’s biggest, and best, music events of the summer. Best of all, it’s absolutely FREE!
On Monday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m. the Davidson County School Board of Education held a meeting at Davis-Townsend Elementary School to vote on whether to make masks mandatory for students heading into the 2021-2022 school year.
Friday evening, June 30th, 2021 local youth and many future black knight hopefuls, kindergarten through eighth grade showed up to Palmer Field, at North Davidson High School for the annual, “Friday Knight Lights” football combine. The combine began at promptly 7:30 PM and concluded around 9:30 PM.
