Thomasville Police arrest two minors in shooting, request help finding third suspect

Two minors have been arrested, and police are seeking another person in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Thomasville in December. Thomasville Police are also searching for Adam James Wright, 20, from Asheboro, in connection with these shooting incidents. He has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Wright’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and law enforcement requests the public’s assistance locating him.

On Monday, the Thomasville Police arrested a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old and issued charges against a 20-year-old suspect following an investigation into a shooting on December 26 near Sullivan and Harris streets.

At approximately 8 PM on that day, officers responded to reports of gunfire, which resulted in three houses being struck—one in the 500 block of Sullivan Street and two in the 100 block of Harris Street.

“Fortunately, despite the homes being occupied at the time of the shooting, there were no reported injuries. Initial investigations suggest that the residences were not specifically targeted,” said representatives from the Thomasville Police Department.

The two juveniles have been charged with three counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Additionally, the 17-year-old was charged with possession of a stolen firearm. Both are currently being held at the Alexander Regional Detention Center in Taylorsville.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the location of Adam James Wright is urged to contact Thomasville Crime Stoppers at (336) 476-8477 or their local law enforcement agency.
