Davidson County Public Library welcomes writers
Is writing your passion? Do you have an interest in self-publishing? Are you looking to brainstorm with other writers? The library has a new group that is perfect for you. West Davidson Public Library, located in the community of Tyro, will now offer a twice a month writers’ group for ages 18 and up. The program will be facilitated by a published writer who has also previously conducted writers’ groups.
The West Davidson Public Library Writers Group will be offered the first and third Tuesday of every month from 4-5 p.m. The group will have its first meeting on Tuesday, October 15th. The writers’ group is intended for intermediate-level writers. Those who have a background in writing, or who already have some experience with writing are best suited. Attendees will receive helpful materials to assist with the writing process, along with the opportunity to brainstorm with other writers. Those who are already working on writing projects, interested in reviving their skills, or dealing with writers’ block will also benefit.
“You can’t edit what you don’t write. So, start writing!” said Michael D. Kelly, Branch Manager at West Davidson Public Library. Kelly, an accomplished writer, notes that the writing group can offer writers a “healthy critique” of their work. The writers group critique will aid writers in developing their skills, along with learning to navigate the world of publishing. Find out more about West Davidson Public Library by visiting
