Anything For Our Youth Group Lexington proudly announces the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Art Exhibition artist reception, celebrating the creativity and talent of young artists in the community. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., there will be the annual parade on Monday, January 15, beginning at 1:00 PM on Main Street in Lexington. There will also be a youth art exhibit and gallery held at the Arts Davidson County on 202 North Main Street at 5:00 PM. The exhibit will showcase the artwork done by youths from grades K-12, with an award presented to the winners. So come on down to the parade and exhibit! Let’s all remember and celebrate the impact of Martin Luther King Jr. this Monday.
Tickets are on sale for the Thirty-Sixth annual Freedom Fund Banquet, honoring the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The banquet will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. on January 13, 2024 at Commons on the Green located at 200 Country Club Blvd in Lexington. The speakers for this year's banquet will be Thomas and Tina Wyatt, owners of T & T Counseling & Consultation Services.
Thirteen scholarships were given to students and four superlatives awards. Please find pictures attached. There was a 14th Scholarship, $500-Tillie Richbourg Memorial Scholarship Award given to Claudia Davis, a student at Winston-Salem State University, who assisted with the 2023 MLK Oratorical Contest.
