Multi-agency drivers license check yield arrests
On November 16, 2024, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office T.R.A.C.E. Team along with officers from the Lexington Police Department, Thomasville Police Departments DWI Task Force, the Denton Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Forensic Test for Alcohol Branch conducted a multi-agency drivers license checking station through the North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Program in the area of Hwy 109 South near Jim Elliott Road, Denton.
As a collaborative effort officers issued 45 charges to include driving while license revoked, open container, registration violations, no insurance, driving while impaired, possession of firearm by convicted felon, and possession of methamphetamine.
Officers arrested three subjects for driving while impaired during the event. Since November 7th the Task Force has arrested and charged (7) seven subjects with driving while impaired on Highway 109 South.
Melvin Rudolph Roberts Jr. was arrested during the event and charged with driving while license revoked, driving while impaired, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
Rodney Dewayne Lambe of Lexington was arrested and charged with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine.
