The Arc of Davidson County recently recognized individuals making a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The following awards were given at the May Annual Meeting:
Melissa Rousseau, Thomasville City Schools
Teachers of the Year Award for demonstrating excellence in teaching students with developmental disabilities
Planned Parenthood
Professional of the Year Award for demonstrating sensitivity and outstanding support for people with developmental disabilities
Regan Abele
Volunteer of the Year Award for giving generously of time and talents to accomplish the mission of The Arc
United Way of Davidson County
Inclusive Community Award for building connections within the entire community to support and serve people with and without disabilities in an inclusive setting
Hayley Musgrave
Direct Support Professional of the Year Award for extraordinary commitment to providing direct support for people with developmental disabilities
Rachel McDaniels
Rising Star recognizes a self-advocate who has exhibited tremendous growth
Abbey Galloway
Spotlight Award given to an employee for exceeding expectations and expecting the same of people supported
