Breaking News: Thomasville Police investigate fatal shooting following breaking and entering

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 7:12 a.m., Thomasville officers responded to a reported breaking and entering at 216 Church Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Dante Wyse, 23, of Winston-Salem, deceased from gunshot wounds on the front porch of an apartment.

Thomasville detectives arrived on the scene and assumed the investigation, conducting witness interviews and collecting evidence. The department is working closely with the Davidson County District Attorney's Office, and at this time, no charges have been filed.

While detectives are not commenting on a possible motive or the relationship between those involved, they are confident this was not a random act, as the parties were known to each other.
