Press Release: Spotlight event to honor local dance legends

Arts Spotlight Lexington 2025 will celebrate Suzy Sheets and Meredith Worley for their significant contributions to the dance community in Lexington and Davidson County.

The occasion will take place at The Edward C. Smith Civic Center in Uptown Lexington, NC, on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Dance performances will showcase the legacies of Suzy Sheets and Meredith Worley, emphasizing their years of commitment to teaching dance.

Alumni of Sheets Dance Academy, alumni and current students of CrossMovement Dance, and Lexington Senior High School will perform. For additional details about this special event in our community and for ticket purchases, please visit www.harrisscholarship.org.

Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 12 and under. The proceeds will support The Evelyn Harris Performing Arts Scholarship, which provides scholarships to Davidson County students pursuing the performing arts at institutions of higher learning. This scholarship honors the legacy of Evelyn Long Harris, who dedicated her passion for the arts to numerous local youth through Lexington Youth Theatre and other organizations. A portion of the funds will be directed towards local dance scholarships.
